4" AEV suspension / TÜV for Dodge RAM 1500, year 2013-2017
The AEV engineers had set themselves a difficult task: To realize the highest level of ride quality, handling and off-road capability in a suspension landing gear for independent suspension.Therefore, in the conception of all components the improvement or maintenance of the chassis and steering geometry of the Dodge RAM was in the foreground: And that's exactly why the self-set goals could be achieved.
The heart of the chassis is a 4mm steel sliding plate, which serves not only as a protection, but mainly as a new mounting point for the front differential.
Another important component of this suspension system are the extended steering knuckles made of military A206 T4 aluminum. They shift the front hubs forward, thus increasing the freedom of movement of the wheels and the high-quality material reduces the unsprung mass.
The front and rear coil springs of the Dodge RAM are retained to maintain ride quality and payload. This also ensures that the desired driving height is achieved for all equipment variants. Bilstein 5100 shock absorbers and struts provide cushioning: their degressive valves provide excellent damping even at low speeds.
