The original Wrangler JL steering knuckles are made of aluminum. Under the increased stresses of off-roading, the fits for ball joints and tie rods tend to roll out and the steering gets play. Reid Racing steering knuckles, on the other hand, are made of high-strength ductile iron and are so hard that the ball joints and tie rod ends remain firmly in place.
